The idea of water conservation has consistently led to new tools and devices to do just that. Hydro Right is one such device. This is a drop in converter designed to save up to 70% of the water that is usually used in the regular flushing of toilets.
This device features two separate flush settings, Quick Flush and Full Flush. The Quick Flush setting uses less water for flushing lower volumes of material such as liquid and paper, which require less water to flush successfully. The Full Flush setting uses the standard amount of water for solids that are to be flushed.
This product is inexpensive, usually costing under $25, and can be found at many home improvement retail locations and at online retailers. The supplementary tool Hydro Clean is a water conservation filter which regulates how much water enters the toilet tank and alerts the user to problems that may exist. This, like Hydro Right, is also inexpensive, usually costing about $12.
While many products that are used for conservation and general green living can be quite costly, these systems are both inexpensive and can save money. These products boast that when used together they may save 30% of spending on each toilet. Hydro Right requires no tools and only takes 5-10 minutes to install. This system won the Chicago Innovation Award in November 2010 and has been featured on television shows such as The Today Show and it has also been featured in select newspapers and online publications.
